Korea Hiking Guide

Southwest Korea Hiking Tour by KTX

A practical two-day route from Seoul linking Wolchulsan, Boseong, Suncheon Bay, Jirisan Nogodan and Namwon by high-speed train and private vehicle.

Why travel southwest by KTX?

Korea’s southwest combines granite mountains, wetlands, tea-growing landscapes and traditional towns. Using the KTX from Seoul reduces the longest road transfers, while a private vehicle in the region makes it possible to connect trailheads and cultural stops efficiently.

Fast departure

Travel from Seoul to Gwangju by KTX in approximately two hours.

Two approachable hikes

Walk Wolchulsan’s suspension-bridge route and Jirisan’s Nogodan trail.

Built for two days

Combine hiking, regional scenery and an overnight stay in Suncheon.

Day 1

Seoul → Wolchulsan → Boseong → Suncheon

Take the KTX from Seoul to Gwangju, continue by private vehicle to Wolchulsan National Park and hike the 3.9 km out-and-back route to Gureumdari suspension bridge. The journey then continues through Boseong’s green tea fields to Suncheon Bay Wetland for an evening walk before an overnight stay in Suncheon.
