Seoraksan Dinosaur Ridge Hiking Tour
Traverse the iconic 5.1 km spined ridge of Seoraksan — a 20 km, 11–13 hour expert-level ridge hike from Seorakdong to Cheonbuldong Valley.
Tour Overview
The Experience
The Dinosaur Ridge (Gongnyongneungseon) is the most iconic and challenging ridge hike in Seoraksan National Park — a jagged, spined crest that runs for about 5.1 km across the heart of the mountain. This full-day, expert-level traverse covers approximately 20 km and 11–13 hours of hiking, with 1,700–1,800 m of elevation gain.
The route begins at Seorakdong and climbs past Biseondae to Madeungnyeong, where the ridge proper begins. From there it follows the Dinosaur Ridge to Sinseondae, crosses Muneomi Pass, and descends through the beautiful Cheonbuldong Valley back to Biseondae and Seorakdong. Sections of the ridge involve fixed ropes, railings and scrambling over granite.
With a Sokcho pickup around 04:30 and a Seoul drop-off around 19:00–21:00, this is a long, demanding day reserved for experienced, fit hikers comfortable with exposed ridge walking and sustained effort. Your guide sets the pace and manages safety throughout.
